Vaulen bathing area

Vaulen bathing area is one of the most popular recreational spots in Stavanger, with beautiful sandy beaches, children's playgrounds, a volleyball court and barbecue facilities. The beach is within walking distance of Hinna, and is a popular place for outdoor activities at the weekend.

Viking Football Stadium/SR-Bank Arena

The newest stadium in Stavanger opened in 2004 and belongs to the local football team Viking FK. The stadium also hosts major concerts and cultural events, with a capacity of 16,300 spectators. Artists such as Bryan Adams and Robbie Williams have performed here.

Swords in the mountains

A monument of three ten-metre-high bronze swords planted into the rock, located in the Madla neighbourhood. The swords symbolise the Battle of Hafrsfjord, which took place in 872 and united Norway under one crown. Stunning views, a beach and recreational trails make it a major tourist attraction.
